It's been 3 1/2 weeks since I caught my foot the wrong way and tore my ankle to shreds. The crutches only lasted 5 days but the purple and yellow colors have just faded and some swelling still remains. It's kept the serious biking in check although I was back in commute mode within a week and hit some road riding a little after that. It meant not hitting the slopes for the 22 inches of powder that dumped on us, but that's OK. You need to play the hand you are dealt. Instead, a big group of us tore through the city having a blast while most people hunkered down and hoped they did not run out of bread and milk. It is hard to beat the child-like joy of riding your bike in the snow.
Now it's time to hope for more snow, finish healing up, and start thinking about the long list of rides that need to be done in 2010. I dug through all of the photos from last year and as usual, a lot of good stuff went down. Going to be hard to top it, but you've got to try.
