Seems my photos have been showing up here and there lately. Currently there's one on BikeRumor.com's Pic of The Day, there was the recent banner at AHTBM and Commute by Bike recently had another. It's strange to see the photos that bubble to the top for other people compared to the ones you favor. Cool to see people appreciate your work regardless.
Leaving the snow behind for a short work trip. Unlikely I'll get on two wheels while I'm gone. I'd rather stay and play in the snow.

Snow day //
Monday - February 15, 2010
My "mountain biking" has taken the form of lots of hard working, deep snow city riding as the trails are buried. It's fun, but you aren't in the woods. With around 50" of snow in less than a week, the trails are going to be buried for a while. So cross training is happening with some play time in the snow. A few days of lift served slope action followed by trombing in the local woods. Saturday was a full work day: I worked hard to play all day. Todd picked me up at 7am as we went to search for untracked powder in the Catoctin Mountains. Some studying of topo maps and satellite photos yielded some potential lines where there might even be somewhere to park nearby (with all this snow, parking anywhere is a struggle). We lucked out and found some good stuff that we will definitely return to. Back home a little after noon, a sandwich and a clothes swap and I was back out with snow shoes on for some trail hiking with my wife and a couple of friends. Good, all day fun that left the body a little sore. No complaints.
